The Steering Committee firmly believes in the importance of Washington County Hospital (WCH) to our area, not only as a quality health care facility, but also as a major economic force. Our hospital has been here for us and our families, friends, and neighbors. We, as well as others, feel an obligation to help ensure that a new, improved WCH is here and available for us and others in the future.
You are invited to join other key community leaders in making a commitment to this very important campaign. You could show your leadership by making an investment before others are asked.
The scope of this program and its importance causes us to seek and make extraordinary investments. Those of us who invest first, and at significant levels, are sending a statement to others that we see the needs of our community being served by a new Washington County Hospital. Our financial commitments can raise the sights of others and help set the high standards this campaign requires.
We are asking you to give consideration to the degree of influence you can assert in this program through your personal pledge. We hope you will join us in making a significant investment and leading the way in this campaign.
We ask you to review this information and support Project Healthcare: Invest in Your Future for the good of all who will benefit now and in the future.
Sincerely,
WCH Steering Committee
Since 1952, Washington County Hospital has supplied area residents with access to a full range of health care services. Now we are counting on you to help us meet the health care challenges of the new century. Your support will help raise $1.5 million dollars or more toward our $10.5 million dollar building project.
What a new facility means to you:
· Quality Healthcare,
· New equipment & services
· A new building to carry Washington County into the future with improved services
· The ability to recruit and retain new Physicians and nurses
· Economic growth for Washington County
Those before us acted on their vision for meeting community health care needs. It is now time for us to act in the same tradition. You have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your families, friends, and neighbors. This campaign provides an unprecedented opportunity to help endow our community with a more secure and stable future. We believe the proposed plan is visionary, practical and cost effective, and should, therefore, be of the highest priority to our community.
A Place of Honor for Your Contribution
As a major donor of $1,000 or more, your name or company will be prominently listed on the wall of honor in our new facility. Or you may name a space in memory or in honor of a loved one. Top-level donors may affix their names to a specific treatment area. Our contribution levels are:
We are seeking PLEDGES to be given over a FIVE-YEAR PERIOD which will add up to a significant gift over a period of time.
The Builder
An old man traveling a long highway came at the evening cold and gray to a canyon deep and wide, through which was flowing a torrential tide.
The old man crossed at twilight dim, the sullen stream held no fear for him. But he turned when safe on the other side, and built a bridge to span the tide.
“Old Man,” said a fellow pilgrim near, “You’re wasting your time building here, your journey will end with the closing day, you’ve crossed the canyon deep and wide, why build this bridge at evening tide?”
“Good Friend, on the trail I have traveled,” he said, “there followed after me today a young family who must still pass this way. This stream which held no fear for me, for them and their children may a pitfall be. They, too, must cross in the twilight dim. Good Friend, I am building this bridge for them.”
